I’ve never seen the show Fringe, except for a few minutes of its reruns that was once on a channel that is now called SCI, that use to be called Discovery Science. But I would like to see a few shows of it in the future, if for no other reason that to see Anna Torv in it. Because I gotta be honest, reading the synopsis of it online, was not an attention grabber for me. You would have to be either an X Files junky or a sci-fi junky in general, which I’m not to be into fringe.

Fringe is about this made up division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, that is run by the Department of Homeland Security. Well anyone in America familiar with the FBI and DHS, knows that the FBI is not part of DHS. So that is one problem for Fringe, but it gets worst for me. Because the Fringe unit so to speak on the show’s job is to investigate the abnormal. Crimes that can’t be explained, supernatural events. Which is just not my cup of tea.

I like cop shows and law enforcement show in general, especially if they involve detectives or other investigators, that are believable and based on realty. That is just who I am as both a Liberal and as a person that I’m into things that are believable and credible and go where the evidence takes me. And that is just not Fringe, but what Fringe looks like is another one of those trendy supernatural detective shows, part of that genre that the Sci-Fi Network and FOX made popular in the late 1990s and the last ten years.

Female bikers to guys are probably like female cowgirls or female construction workers or rocker chicks or female truck drivers. Attractive sexy real women doing things that guys normally do, but looking sexy because they are sexy, beautiful in a lot of cases and feminine. Its like looking at us but seeing attractive sexy feminine women not dykes (not that there’s anything wrong with that if that’s who you are) doing these activities instead.

I believe this is why guys like action movies or action TV shows featuring if not having an attractive sexy women playing the lead in the movie who looks great who’s a real women, but kicks ass and doesn’t take lets say junk from anyone (to keep it clean). The movie Barb Wire with Pam Anderson comes to mind or Thelma and Louise with Susan Surandon and Gina Davis would be another good example of that. Intent to Kill with Tracy Lords playing a big shot tough sexy Los Angeles police detective dressed as a biker chick most of the movie, but drives a car would be another example as well.

So seeing attractive women on bikes in the biker gear denim or leather or both either sitting behind her boyfriend or riding the bike herself, I gotta admit gives me a ride (pardon the pun) and a lot of other guys rides as well. Because they are seeing the attractive sexy feminine versions of ourselves and makes the experience that much more entertaining and why you see a lot of movies now and twenty-five years ago of essentially sexy attractive women essentially quite frankly playing the roles of dudes.

Skinny jeans with boots, whether they’re skinny denims or skinny leathers and of course skinny denim jeans are more popular than leathers, but you’re talking about a classic combination. That really goes back to the late 1970s as far as mainstream pop culture in America. When the country moved away from bell bottoms and flair hippie jeans. (As I call them). Jean pants that are very baggie and even looser than what are called trouser jeans today. Pants that were designed to look stylish and somewhat rock and roll and Hollywood, but did nothing to show a woman’s legs or butt. We went from this look of the early and mid 1970s, to the designer jeans wave of the late 1970s. Where all the new denims were designed to show a women’s legs and butt. Where most of them were dark wash and where you have fancy leather designer tags on the jeans. From labels like Calvin Klein, Lee, Gloria Vanderbilt, Levis even. All these designer jeans that were huge and all over TV in the late 1970s and through the 1980s, all came about starting in 1978 and 79.

Before the designer jean revolution of the late 1970s, tight denim jeans, what are called skinny jeans, were only popular in Western and biker culture and a certain extent rock and roll culture. At least for women, because women back then didn’t feel the freedom to highlight their legs and butts. Even in a stylish way where they would wear a nice blouse and sport jacket and western boots with their jeans. Before 1978 women were supposed to look somewhat conservative at least in the sense they weren’t supposed to show their legs and butts, at least with pants. Short skirts, were considered somewhat acceptable, just not tight pants and certainly not tight jeans. That all changed in the late 1970s with shows like Threes Company, Dukes of Hazard, Taxi and few others. Where you saw beautiful sexy women on a regular basis sporting tight designer jeans and wore them with boots regularly and wore jeans in boots. And America if anything has just gotten more liberal with our wardrobe and jeans wardrobe for both men and women ever since.

We’ve gone to the designer jean revolution for women of the late 1970s and into the early and mid 1980s, to the horribly failed experiment of the acid wash jeans wave of the late 1980s. Back to Levis era of the early and mid 1990s, to another designer jeans revolution of the late 1990s. That we’ve never moved away from. Wear the jeans weren’t new as far as design, because they were based on the jeans from the late 1970s and early 80s. To the jeans in boots look from the mid 2000s that I again were still in. Where beautiful sexy women not just want to show their legs and look stylish doing it and not like strippers or prostitutes, but are expected to wear skinny jeans and wear the right skinny denims for their legs and wear them with boots. Western boots, riding boots, biker boots. There plenty of stylish sexy boots for women to wear with their jeans without looking like hookers. And this has been a great style era for women, but also for men. Because we get to check them out.

Lovers of Boots: Down by the Riverside- Leather and Denim in Boots

When I think of sexy women, I think of them in tight jeans with leather boots. Whether they wear their boots with skinny jeans, the common look for five years now, or jeans over boot’s, its a very sexy combination. It combines two sexy looks, denim and leather, the two sexiest looks in fashion right now. Women who look good in leather or denim, look good. Especially when they combine the two. With a leather jacket and denim jeans, for example. Or just denim with leather boots and perhaps a suede jacket, or non-leather jacket. And the other advantage that these two materials have is that you can dress them up or down. Denim is traditionally dressed down like when people are at home and relaxing, just getting home from work. Running errands on the weekend, going to their kids ballgames, etc. But both leather and denim can be dressed up. Women can go to the office now in their jeans and even boots and do that and look appropriate.

The body type is an important component of the denim and boots look. I’m not a fan of the valley girl look, a tall, rail thin, blond who doesn’t eat full meals and is afraid of meat. I’m also not a fan of obese women who look like they only eat meat and sweets and wouldn’t know exercise if they fell over it. I’m attracted to healthy, well-built, women who eat full meals and keep themselves in shape. I’m 6’5 and over 200 lbs. I prefer women who are between 5’6 & 6’+ and well-built. I like healthy women who stay in shape and are proud of it. Not who look like vegetarians who think working out makes women look fat. Or women with bad appetites who never exercise. But healthy women who stay in shape and look good. Who are proud of their physical appearance perhaps because they know what they have to do to look good and stay in shape. And like showing the world how good they looks. And denim, leather and boots, especially when they’re put together is a great way to do that.

About a year and a half ago, I saw a YouTube video of a beautiful, tall, brunette with a sweet face walking by a riverside wearing a black leather jacket, tight, dark, washed, skinny, denim jeans and black, leather, stiletto boots. I commented, at the time and still believe today, that her look was the perfect combination, like a cheeseburger and fries. The woman, apparently British, replied to me that she prefers fish and chips (ha ha) but she took my point. Whichever analogy you prefer, it works. I prefer seeing women wearing calf high boots in tight jeans. It looks sexy but the women look intelligent and productive, independent of their sex appeal. Thigh high boots strike me as hooker boots. Women wearing them look like they need their sex appeal to make a living.
