“Electric Horseman: “When was the last time you were surprised?”

From Matthew Lee

Electric Horseman_ _When was the last time you were surprised__

The Electric Horseman is not a great film. It’s a very entertaining movie, a very funny movie especially Robert Redford where you really see his quick, underrated, comedic wit, timing, and improvisation in this movie. Not saying Redford is Cary Grant, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, or Paul Newman, when it comes to comedy, but he’s a very skilled comedic actor who doesn’t need direction or a script to be funny and you see that in this movie. You also see a lot of his comedic skills in Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid ( one of my favorite movies ) and what you also see in Butch and Sundance and The Electric Horseman is Redford with a mustache. I actually think he looks good with a stache and perhaps others do as well.

To me at least Electric Horseman is a typical Sidney Pollack movie where he mixes in drama and comedy. He has a movie that is about a serious issue and in this case a movie about a horse literally being stolen or horse napped ( if that’s a real term ) but he puts funny people in the movie who are also great actors. Tootsie from 1982 I believe is another example of a typical great Pollack film. By the way, Jane Fonda also has an important role in this movie where she plays a reporter who is covering this story about essentially a washed-up cowboy in Redford who steals this horse, because he doesn’t want to see this horse being doped anymore and just used as a show horse. Sonny ( played by Robert Redford ) career as a cowboy as fallen so far that he’s now been reduced to doing cereal commercials on this horse.

Sonny steals the horse in the dead of night and takes him out to the Nevada desert with the plan of releasing the horse so no one else can find him and bring him back. And similar to Smokey and the Bandit he how has the local state police in Nevada chasing him to bring back the horse and arrest Sonny. Alice ( played by Jane Fonda ) is a local Las Vegas reporter who has been tapped to cover this horse show with Sonny and gets the scoop that Sonny has stolen the horse and manages to catch up with them in the Nevada desert with no one else following her out there. And tells Sonny that she’s not working with the police and simply wants to cover the story and show the people what he’s up to and present Sonny’s story to the public. She eventually gains his trust and he allows her to follow them.

This is not a great movie and sort of has this Hollywood idealist vibe to it with a famous cowboy, who somehow believes that animals in this case’s a show horse, perhaps has the same rights as humans. When he knows for a fact that horses are raised to race and be used for transportation and serve at the pleasure for humans and in some cases even be used for food. With Jane Fonda not playing an overly idealistic hippie radical Socialist in the movie, but simply as an objective reporter ( or that’s how she starts out ) looking for a big story and to advance her career in TV news. So the plot is a little unbelievable, sounds like complete fiction, but the story is very entertaining and funny with a great cast.

What you also see in this movie is that it relates very well to the world of fashion, especially women’s fashion. The movie comes out in late 1979 and perhaps made in 79 or 78 at the start of the designer jeans revolution. Pre-1978 or perhaps even 1977, you rarely saw American women in tight jeans and boots at all in Hollywood or on TV, even in westerns or action movies. In The Electric Horseman, Jane Fonda is wearing skin-tight designer denim jeans in boots, for about a hour of the movie. You also briefly see her in black leather jeans and boots when she meets Sonny for the first time in the desert. She’s also wearing a short and tight suede jacket and if you’re familiar with Jane Fonda, you know that she’s obviously a beautiful, sexy woman, adorable as well. ( Whatever you think of her politics ) And this movie and style just fit her perfectly in the movie.

Just a personal note first. have you ever seen a gorgeous woman or any woman in general, look better in Levi’s and boots, then Marilyn Monroe? If you look at The Misfits movie you have about 40-45 minutes of Marilyn in dark wash Levi’s denim jeans were she’s either wearing a tank top of white blouse and about 10-15 minutes or so of Marilyn with a blue Levi’s denim jacket as well. And keep in mind, this movie was made in 1960 wear women weren’t wearing tight jeans including Levi’s on a regular basis at least on TV or in the movies. And you have this gorgeous baby-faced adorable blonde with a beautiful body in these dark wash Levi’s and boots.

Women were barley wearing pants at all on TV and in the movies back then and if they were wearing pants at all, generally they were business pants. Tight jeans and boots for women especially that combo, didn’t become common and mainstream for American women until the late 1970s with the designer jeans revolution. Marilyn was sort of like Catherine Bach ( who played Daisy Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard ) in The Misfits as far as style and looked gorgeous and sexy during the entire movie.

As far as the movie itself, it wasn’t a great movie. It was entertaining and at times pretty funny. But Elie Wallach who was one of the best actors at least of his generation and in this movies is right about the word misfits.

The four main characters in the movie including Marilyn, but also with Burt Lancaster, Eli Wallach, Thelma Ritter, and Montgomery Clift, were basically all drifters who went from place to place and got involved in this or that. Gary Langland, ( played by Burt Lancaster ) Guido, ( played by Eli Wallach ) and Pierce Howland, ( played by Montgomery Clift ) were all Nevada cowboys but they were part-time cowboys at this point.

Roslyn Taber ( played by Marilyn Monroe ) and Isabelle Steers ( played by Thelma Ritter ) were even bigger drifters than the cowboys.

Roselyn was just recently divorced and not knowing where she was going from there and how where her life was going. Isabelle was Roselyn’s friend but perhaps even more of a drifter than Roselyn and just being with her friend to help her out and try to start over.

They end up in Reno, Nevada and stop at a bar which is where they meet Gary and Guido and start to get to know each other. And they tell the two woman that they’re cowboys which is where Roselyn gets interested and find out that Roselyn has nowhere to stay and Gary brings her back to his cabin.

The Roselyn character is so sweet, adorable, and innocent in the movie. Idealistic and naive and overly idealistic as well. Expecting people to better than they actually are.

Marilyn was literally the kid in the movie both figuratively and literally. With the other four main characters all having real world experience and knowing people for who they are. The seen when they start to go rodeoing is a perfect example of that. Roselyn thinks that the guys there are just there to catch horses and then let them go for sport. When the fact is they’re doing it for money and are going to sell the horses to people that are going to kill the horses and use them for meet to sell on the market. The only person in the group who is not aware of this going in. Like a kid.

This is not Marilyn Monroe’s worst movie and certainly not her best movie. I believe she physically looks her best in this movie along with The River of No Return where she plays a woman with a lot more experience and sense for the real world. In The Misfits I believe she comes off as 15-16 year old little girl and not just because she was adorable enough enough to pass for a girl that young physically. But her character’s personality in this movie is very immature and inexperienced.

Good movie if you love gorgeous sexy women in jeans and boots and love cowgirls. But the movie itself leaves plenty to be desired.

Similar to River of No Return, The Misfits is a very entertaining and good movie, but certainly not a great movie. The writing is pretty cheesy even for the 1950s and early 1960s and especially for a movie that is an action/western movie. But is has a good plot and a great cast. With two women that are essentially drifters, at least in Marilyn Monroe’s case who is just recently divorced and not knowing where she is going from there. And they meet two cowboys in a diner played by Clark Gable and Eli Wallach and find that they have things in common and decide to get together.

Marilyn Monroe’s character doesn’t have a place to stay and the Clark Gable character invites her to stay with him as a guest at her ranch and she more than keeps herself busy there and does a lot of work on the cabin really, a small cabin on a decent size lot of property. And Clarks’s partner in the movie played by Eli Wallach tells him that there are available horses up to be rounded up, brought back and sold, but they need another man to do the job. And they take the girls played by Marilyn and Thelma Ritter to a rodeo to find their man and that is where they get Montgomery Clift character to help them out.

Marilyn as usual is as sweet and adorable as can be and plays someone who wouldn’t step on nat if if you gave her a thousand-dollars to do so. Clark Gable plays a veteran cowboy who is exactly that living the cowboy lifestyle and making his living rounding up horses and cattle. Eli Wallach plays a very similar character as Clark and Montgomery Clift plays a drifting cowboy along for the ride just looking for work. Thelma Ritter plays Marilyn’s friend and tries to worn her about cowboys and how they live. Marilyn being somewhat lost, just looking to find her way and to be useful.

The River of No Return is certainly not a great movie. It is a good movie, an entertaining movie, a fairly well-written movie with a good cast and Marilyn Monroe looks great in the movie. This movie was also ahead of its time at least when it comes to women’s fashion. This movie takes place in the late 19th Century or early 20th Century and yet Marilyn is wearing tight Levis denim jeans in boots for about half of the movie. In an era where that was almost never seen from women. Back then women wore long dresses for the most part and nothing that showed a lot of their physical body.

Marilyn looked great in this movie, her usual hot sexy baby-face adorable sweet self. And this movie was very real to me in the sense that it wasn’t about angels and devils. Robert Mitchum plays a single father in the movie who helps out a couple on the water having trouble with their boat. The man in this couple is a criminal or crook on the run. His wife is Marilyn a sweetheart, but not someone without faults. But Mitchum is simply trying to help these people out and the guy screws them and takes his lone horse away from Mitchum and his son and his girlfriend stays behind with the man and his son. And now they are together trying to survive on the River of No Return with outlaws shooting at them.

My Sexy Cowgirls: ‘Sexy Cowgirl Shot Duel’

“Sexy cowgirl shot duel. Originally from My Sexy Cowgirls. ”

From My Sexy Cowgirls

Two sexy cowgirls, one of them in a complete cowgirl outfit, with a black cowgirl hat, black leather jeans, with a cowgirl belt and leather cowgirl boots. I was rooting for her to win in this fake cowgirl duel. (Thats right no one actually died in this video) Cowgirls are very sexy, as sexy as any other type of woman of any other lifestyle. Because they all work hard, eat full balanced meals and work out. You have to in order to be able be to work on a ranch because its a lot of hard work. I’m not interested in rail thin women who almost hate to eat, trying to become the next supermodel. Thinking they have to starve themselves to get there.

Even a lot of fashion models now have real women’s bodies with tight curves. They are healthy, they eat enough and eat right, as well as work out. The stereotypical tall rail thin valley girl look, that came out in the late 1970’s early 80s, is finally starting to fade. We even see valley girls today that are well built, with tight curves and look healthy. Brittney Spears comes to mind, she has a great body because she stays in shape, eats well and eats enough. Jessica Simpson would be another and I hope that trend continues forever.

“Originally from mysexycowgirls.com, I just did the FX

From My Sexy Cowgirls

As I mentioned before there’s a website called My Sexy Cowgirls, not sure about the exact web dress. And they produce videos with actress’s I guess playing old Western cowgirls but giving it a modern look with the outfits that cowgirls would wear in this century and they would be just like cowboys with the guns and horses and everything, but be very attractive sexy cowgirls instead as you see in this very short video. And it’s very entertaining for guys who are into Western culture but who also like sexy attractive women as well. Not for guys who want to be like woman, but who guys who like women.

And that is what you see in this video two cowgirls in a gun duel and one of them wins, the survivor if you want to call that winning and the other the loser the one who gets shots and goes to the ground. And no in case you were actually wondering this they weren’t using real bullets unless the bullets were made out of water. And if you were wondering about the bullets you can take a big sigh of relief and know that the woman in black was perfectly okay from this little experience.

“Great video clip of 2 cowgirls , in the end both get shot in the belly and heart.”

From My Sexy Cowgirls

There’s a YouTube channel called My Sexy Cowgirls and they have a web site with I believe the same name as well. And they make videos with actress’s playing cowgirls from like the Old West but make it more modern with outfits more like in the 20th and 21st centuries as far as outfits. No more really long dress’s because they’ve been replaced with tight denim and leather jeans with cowgirl boots with the cowgirls hats. Sort of like the Sharon Stone movie The Quick and the Dead from 1995 with Gene Hackman.

The YouTube channel seems to either be gone or they stopped uploading videos which is too bad from at least my point of view and I’m sure a lot of other guys point of view as well. Because these beautiful sexy women playing cowgirls in these videos doing either shootouts or bar fights just like in the Old West, but instead of having butch strong men play the roles they use young attractive sexy women instead and these videos are very entertaining.

Martu Uussia-Televisia: Wounds of a Lover- Sexy Mexican Soap Opera

Source: The Daily Press

Here’s a Mexican soap opera from Televisia TV taking place on a what at least in America and perhaps in Mexico would be called a Western ranch. What we call in America Western culture is pretty popular in Mexico, but they have their own Western culture that is not that different from what you see in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. But takes place in states in Mexico like Tijuana. If you watch the Spanish soap operas on Telemundo and Univision, a lot of them at least when I was watching them on a regular basis ten-years ago or so took place on ranches.

I love these types of shows because it combines the drama, backstabbing, ulterior motives and humor of a good soap opera. With cowboy and cowgirl culture and you get to see all of these Latin beautiful and sexy cowgirls like you see in this video throughout the show. It is sort of like watching Rodeo Girls on A&E, if you are familiar with that, but it takes place in Mexico or perhaps Argentina or somewhere else in South America. Instead of the Southwest or Mountain West in America.
